This page discusses how to download and install the DATAFEED Windows DCI.
Note: If you select a download directory other than the default c:\Windows\Temp\Wdci45i, then none of the files of the InstallShield setup used during the download process will be deleted when installation is completed. If the default download directory is used, then these files will be deleted.
Create a special download directory in your hard drive. In most cases, you will want to create the directory on your "C:" drive; however, if you have multiple hard drives, you can create it on a drive of your own choosing. For example, you might call the directory "d:\dftemp".
Click on the "'Download: Version 4.5" link.
If you use Netscape Navigator, the browser displays a dialog box that lets you save to a directory on your hard drive. Select the download directory you've created in this dialog box.
If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer, the browser first displays the following dialog box.
Click "OK" to begin downloading wdci45zip.exe to your PC.
The browser downloads a compressed version of the executable file to your hard drive.
From the hard drive/directory location to which you downloaded the file, double click on wdci45zip.exe. The zip file offers to extract a set of compressed files into the C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\WDCI45I directory, by default, and prompts you to unzip the file for installation.
Click on Unzip. WinZip unzips the files and begins the installation process.
Follow the instructions on the screen to install the Windows DCI 4.5.
You are now ready to run the Windows DATAFEED Communications Interface.
